The Houston Push Basketball organization mission is to build and sustain a successful professional community basketball team that provides our players a platform to nationally showcase their skills while entertaining our community. Our goals are:

  • To strengthen our relationship with the Houston community, which the team serves, by giving back whenever possible through donations & volunteer time. As we continue to grow, we look forward to working with area schools, charities, and organizations through donations, volunteering, and increasing community awareness.

Derric Daniels:  Director of Operations

Washingtonian Derric Daniels is the Director of Operations for the Houston Push in its inaugural 2021 season. His expertise and experience is attributed to his Business Management degree from Fordham University along with his established non profit and for profit initiatives within the community of sports and education.  Daniels is also the business manager to team owner Steve Francis.

James William White IV: Head Coach

James William White IV is the Head Coach for the Houston Push in their inaugural season in The Basketball League (TBL)
White played three seasons in the NBA for the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, and the New York Knicks before eventually playing for Virtus Roma of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). White is currently an American professional basketball player for The Trilogy in The Big 3 Professional Basketball League.

Martyn “Moochie” Norris:  Assistant Coach

Martyn “Moochie” Norris is the Assistant Coach for their inaugural season in The Basketball League.

Martyn “Moochie” Norris an American former professional basketball player played several seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as well as other leagues. Norris is a journeyman, who played collegiately at Odessa College (junior college) (1992 – 1994), at Auburn University (1994 – 95) and at the University of West Florida (1995 – 96). He was drafted as the 33rd overall pick (4th in second round) of the 1996 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks but ultimately began his NBA career with the Vancouver Grizzlies.  After taking some time off, he returned to the NBA and played with Seattle SuperSonics, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks and New Orleans Hornets. After the 2006 NBA season, Norris briefly joined the Yakama Sun Kings of the Continental Basketball Association, played for Italian club Climamio Bologna, and returned to the Sun Kings where he led the league in assists. Norris decided to retire in 1999 following his season with the Chile Basketball League.

After his professional basketball career, Norris focused on giving back to the game of basketball by training and coaching the youth & adults in his community.  He creates unique techniques of training to ensure each trainee receives the highest level of achievements when the techniques learned in “the kitchen” are applied. Moochie teaches these same unique training techniques with the Houston Push basketball team. You can always find Moochie on a basketball court, he calls “The Kitchen” going over drills and conditioning players of all ages during his “Moochie Norris Workouts”.

Trevon Sanchez:  Socia Media and Marketing Manager

Trevon Sanchez is currently a Student at Lamar University and has been awarded an academic Broadcast and Writing scholarship for his academic performance and Sports blog site. Trevon is our organization’s Social Media and Marketing Manager as well as the Head of Interns for the Houston Push.

Monique Hobbs:  Director of Social Impact & Human Resources

Monique Hobbs is a proud native Houstonian. She serves as the Director of Social Impact & Human Resources for Houston Push inaugural season.

Monique is also the CEO of MoeConnect Ventures & Management. She specializes in connecting companies, brands, and individuals with specific & strategic partners worldwide. She prides her connections and partnerships on positive impact projects on all levels. She calls her projects “Purpose Driven Projects” This mindset has allowed her to positively move through the entertainment industry in various ways. She’s managed contractual projects for BET, Essence Festival, McDonald’s Black & Positively Golden movement, The Houston Rodeo, Steve Francis Foundation, NFL, 953 Jamz, & various A-list actors, artists & athletes. Monique promotes personal growth & empowers through her connections. She believes community outreach is her ultimate purpose in life. She passionately encourages everyone she connects with to strive to be the best version of themselves & to always give back.

Monique brings her connections, knowledge, and the love for people and the community to the Houston Push Organization. With twenty plus years of service and management she’s earned a plethora of achievements winning numerous awards like, The Most Influential Woman & Dare 2 Inspire Honoree of Houston. She’s looking forward to building the Houston Push Organization into a global impactful brand.
